National Archaeological Museum of Venice

Mission and statute

The National Archaeological Museum of Venice is a permanent non-profit institution at the service of the community, open to the public.  It guards, conserves, and enhances its collections, promoting their study and knowledge as a crucial aspect of the Venetian cultural heritage and of the social, political and economic history of the town.

To this end, we invite our audience to explore the role that the cultural testimonies of classical Greco-Roman antiquity had in the historical events and figurative art of the Serenissima Republic.
