SUNDAY IN MUSEUM
On Sunday, July 3rd the initiative of the Ministry of Culture is back: “Sunday in museum” with FREE ENTRY in all National Museums. The Archaeological Museum is involved in the initiative BUT…free entry is not exceptional. On the occasion of the exhibition HISTORYNOW by the contemporary artist Marc Quinn and the reopening of the historical entrance and courtyard, free entry was established. That means that it is possible to visit our collections without paying a ticket not only the first Sunday of the month. Of course the initiative of the Ministry of Culture is renowned and many people wait for it for the free entry, BUT at the Archaeological Museum the entrance is currently free of charge everyday. So that you can plan your visit without urgency, after all museums require a thoughtful attitude, they need concentration and awareness. Visiting a museum is like having a relationship and…well you know…relationships can be complicated. If you want the relationship to work, you have to sniff, to get to know and connected each other. You don’t have to rush to a museum like during a Black Friday and if you are not into blind dates, you have to inquire about its history, the collections and the rooms. How can you do that? Have a look to our website, wander in our pages and get curious; take your time to learn, for instance, the significance of the Archaeological Museum in Venice history and find out how to get to the Museum. Linger on the artworks, feel the slow rhythm of history and don’t hurry. Enjoy the details, like the marble draperies, the bright colours of the gems or the unexpected. For any doubt ask the staff who will provide information and explanation. We recommend a slow attitude and don’t worry if you can’t come next Sunday, you are welcome without any fee even on Monday, Tueday, Wednesday… LT
